The Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) program aims to improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by reducing the prevalence of tobacco and tobacco use through population health activities. The TIS program has been running for 15 years. TIS teams now operate in every Australian region, providing information to communities about adopting smoke-free and vape-free lifestyles. The TIS program is managed and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. Learn more at tacklingsmoking.org.au

The New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) is honoured to continue its support of the 52nd NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Koori Knockout (KO). For the past 9 years, NSWALC has proudly sponsored the KO, reflecting our ongoing commitment to building stronger community connections, celebrating Aboriginal culture, and empowering our people through sport.
NSWALC is the largest member based Aboriginal organisation in Australia, with a network of 121 Local Aboriginal Land Councils and 29,000 members. Across NSW, Local Aboriginal Land Councils serve their local communities; while NSWALC as the State’s peak representative body aims to protect and foster the interests and aspirations of Local Aboriginal Land Council members and those of the entire Aboriginal community of NSW.
NSWALC is committed to ensuring a better future for Aboriginal people by working for the return of culturally significant and economically viable land, pursuing cultural, social and economic independence for its people and being politically proactive and voicing the position of Aboriginal people on issues that affect them.
The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is a Commonwealth Government agency working to ensure First Nations communities are heard, recognised and empowered. We support the Minister for Indigenous Australians to implement the Australian Government’s priorities.
We achieve this by working in genuine partnership to enable the self-determination and aspirations of First Nations communities; removing barriers to ensure full and equal participation in the social and economic life of Australia. We lead and influence change across government to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have a say in the decisions that affect them.
We recognise that the only way to Close the Gap is when First Nations Australians, own, commit to and drive the outcomes sought, alongside all governments.
We partner with First Nations communities, peak bodies, governments, and service providers to make a difference in people’s lives. We do this through providing support for the delivery of key community initiatives such as the NSW Koori Knockout to enable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to continue to access an event that promotes culture, identity and well-being through engagement with sport as well as social and cultural connection.
We have staff across Australia, including in New South Wales on Wiradjuri country and work closely with communities to address their specific needs.
We have been a proud supporter of NSW Koori Knockout since the agency’s establishment in 2019.
